i came to realize something today in an email exchange.
Apple is not a business. It's an art co-op.
Think about it. Artists like complete control over their media, presentation, and in some regards, interpretation. Most artists don't really like you to go and add things to their products or use their products in such ways as to minimalize or devalue what they did. (You can feature their product in something nicely designed (like an art museum) but most artists wouldn't be too happy to find their stuff on toilet paper wrappers.) Artists feel that to introduce something alien into their product goes against the purity of what they wanted to say.
Kinda explains why all the guys with Van Dykes and black turtlenecks tend to go for mac stuff, huh?

When I see Van Dykes and black turtlenecks, I always end up thinking of the nihilists in The Big Lebowski. Maybe that's why I'm not in line for an iPhone already.
