Ok, so my current personal phone is a Helio Ocean, (which, i'll note, pretty much ended as i expected). It was a holdover phone until i could figure out what mobile device i wanted. Lo and behold, we've now got the latest iPhone, the Palm Pre, and the Blackberry Storm to pick from.
iPhones are fragile beasts that require nearly constant attention. They're the modern equivalent of Tamagochi.
The Pre has reversed Palm's history and actually introduced better software than hardware. True, Sprint has one of the most data friendly policies out there, except for the fact that i'm usually not in a Sprint network (2 bars at home, 1 at work, 0 far more often than i'd prefer while travelling.)
And the few blackberry apps blackberry offers require you've got deeper pockets than others (on multiple levels).
Even better, the various services available all tend to suck in their own, magical ways.
Looks like i'll be sticking with my current option, forwarding my old number to my work phone and hauling around a bag full of network devices.
