For a while now, i've had trouble flexing two fingers in my hands, one finger on each hand. In short, every morning i'd have problems making a full fist. Having studied it for a while, i'm pretty sure that it was due to tendinitis from using a mouse (principally the mouse wheel). i'm pretty addicted to that wheel, since i tend to read a lot of stuff that requires scrolling.
In order to address that problem, i picked up a Wacom Bamboo Touch a couple of weeks ago and stopped using my mouse at work. Why that device? Pretty much because it's multi-touch and works the way that you'd expect a multi-touch thing to work.
It's not perfect, but i like using it. (It has a habit of sometimes resetting itself, but you can easily reload the saved configuration file and it returns to sane.) What's more, my tendinitis seems to be going away rather nicely. Sadly, it will require more effort than i want to give right now to get it working correctly under Ubuntu, but in theory it's do-able. Oddly, i tend to use the keyboard more on Ubuntu than i do for Win7, so it's not a major issue for me yet.
Still, if you find your hands bugging you in the same way, you may want to give this beastie a try.
