Apparently, no one over at Ford got the note that the dot.com thing is over.
Today, amongst moderate hoopla, a number of Friendly Ford dealers are decending to pimp the lastest reasons that there are not enough parking spots on campus. They've got more than just escorts, though, they've brought in all the various high end models for us to test drive.
Not that i'm really arguing with the fact that they've dragged over a bunch of Fords, Range Rovers, Volvos and whatever other companies they absorbed in the 90s, but i really got to wonder how many of these things they honestly expect to sell?
i mean a few years ago, sure, cash in some options and get a new car. Heck, considering that most of the folks who worked here drove cars they'd probably stolen out of some impound lot, i can understand, but now, when we actually have sales and business folks working here? i'm not so sure.
Worst thing is that it ran from 4pm to 6pm, and they were handing out free ice cream.
And i was stuck in meetings and fixing stuff.
DAMMIT! i WANT FREE ICECREAM!
