So the evening news had a "Local Interest" end of show comment that the new name of Candlestick may prove to be more risque than expected. Of course, the fact of the matter is far duller. It's just that since Virgin has made SFO their hub, they were thinking about sponsoring Candlestick Park and having it re-christened Virgin Atlantic Park. The news reporter felt that the term "virgin" may be considered risque.
Mind you, with the recent passing of the Anti-Boob Bill in the Senate (as in no boobs on TV, the ones in Senate, however, are unaffected), i can see where she may feel that way, but i'm willing to believe that the term for the principle reward for your every-day fanatic is probably not going to make Sister Mary Margret blush.
This, of course, lead me to wonder what sponsor would?
i'm guessing "Viagra Park" would probably be a bad name, even with the proposed extension. Likewise, Mycelex Field would be equally bad, and i'm betting that everyone would enjoy the game more if the visiting team payed more attention to the folks sitting in section four.
Me? i'm still holding out for Astroglide Park.
