For the first time, the Democratic National Convention and the Republican National Convention will credential a small number of bloggers to cover their nominating processes. Blogging was in its infancy during the 2000 campaign.
Ok, i'm not horribly surprised about this. In fact, i would have been more surprised if no bloggers had been included. The reason is pretty obvious, TV media needs to fill space with talking heads. In this case, they grabbed a bunch of folks known for being opinionated and not shutting up in order to balance their "refined and cultured" approaches (best exampled by Bill O'Reily).
Of course an even larger part of me hopes that the bloggers actually stick to form and every third report has to do with how hot that chick was last night or how they're regretting hanging out at the fried cheese buffet this morning.
