Right now, i've got two computers maxed out transcoding video streams. A third is maxed out restructuring some audio. i really want to do some 8Mpx image manipulations, but i'd have to do that on the media box. That's about 4GHz of CPU plugging away, and will probably continue to do so for the next hour or so. Not too surprisingly, the new 2GHz AMD64 is out pacing the relatively venerable 1.7GHz P4.
i already caught myself thinking about whether this would be faster if i had dual 64s in more than one machine.
i'm afraid to look at the power meter.
