How the hell do retired folks do it?
Seriously, if i've learned nothing this week, it's that i plan on continuing to work until they box me up and mulch me. Between daytime TV, soliciting phone calls and near complete lack of human interaction (that doesn't involve me paying someone for something), it's ungodly boring.
As a bit of an experiment, i've been trying to not do work for the past few days. You know, actually take some time off and pretend that i'm retired.
i'm about ready to lose it.
Already i've caught myself repeatedly answering mail and poking at stuff. About the only thing i haven't done yet is delve into Adobe AIR as much as i wanted to, but that's more because it's all set up on my laptop and i'm not really up for having that thing on my lap. (thank you UltraVNC, though for solving part of that problem.) i can't escape the feeling that there's far better ways to spend my time, and with the minimal yard i have, regular gardening is more a sign of OCD than a chore.
Honestly, fishing, golf, the usual fare of the retired? i'm thinking that it'd be a month and a half before i took up skeet shooting.
Possibly in a mall.
