Ok, first off. If you live in the South Bay and are considering getting your ductwork replaced. You want to call Aaron Crumpton. It's just that simple.
i'll add in that if you live in a 50+ year old house and are wondering why your heat/AC doesn't work, You want to call Aaron Crumpton.
Now, allow me to explain why.
i'm a BIG believer in getting experts to do something. Experts are not always the guys with the fancy painted trucks and the big color ads in the phone pages. Experts are people who've been working in the field for a while and can tell you stories about jobs they've been on. They're people who tell you point blank the things you need and the things you don't, why, and can explain things in ways that make absolute sense to you even if you don't know every detail of the system. They can do it because you're not the first person they've talked to and since he's not out to rip you off, there's no need for him to try and confuse you. They also tend to not need a sales person to be your middleman (although some experts are contractors and can get you the right person).
Experts don't come cheap. They're also not terribly expensive either. The best way to find an expert is someone to whom you show the lowest bid and he tells you "No, i can't do it for that little and expect the job to come out well". They're people who you can tell have a great deal of pride in what they do.
If any of this sounds like, well, how you'd describe yourself in what you do, that's the person you want to hire. Would you want someone doing what you do because they're cheaper, but you know full well that they'll never do the sort of job you could? That's because cheaper isn't always better.
Seriously. Cheap is good for disposable items like matches and paper cups, not stuff you may actually rely on. Pay the money up front and get the job done right so you don't have to pay again and again later.
Oh yeah, and if you need any HVAC job? Really gotta recommend Aaron. Ping me for the contact info.
Sounds like you're describing a good web service:
Well-documented
Dependable
Reliable
The Web as a loose federation of contractors
Sorry, couldn't resist!
