Lately, i've been thinking about this here blog.
A good many folks i know have a tendency to use their blogs as self promotional venues. This is mostly because i work with geeks who live and breathe various programming techniques and aspects and use their blog much like any professional would use a journal. Except there's no peer review and you don't get a lap full of those subscription cards every time you read them. *goo-gle-ing: 3 syllables.

Hipster words are less efficientThat's fine, i guess, but as folks future potential employers spend more and more time searching for you*, one wonders what sort of footprint one leaves.
Mind you, i could go on about programming theory and application design and whether 'Nil' == FALSE, but honestly, other than a handful of language nerds, who really cares? i could talk about how i had to chase down a machine, get access, and rip out the brain damaged code someone installed, but again, who really cares?
i'd like to think that my work speaks for itself. However, when i say "work" i mean just that. This blog is personal, and something i do for my own benefit more than anyone else's. i'll continue to do it so long as i feel the justification of screaming into my own personal well. Still, i wonder if that's a good thing overall. Should i focus on geekly esoterica just to polish my own personal apple?
Meh, forget that. My blog, my rules. If anyone is so inclined and can't figure out that there's an entire "geek" category, that's not really someone i'd want to work for. Plus, i'd like to think that posting up stuff like meatloaf recipes and tales of cranking up my backyard fauna show that i'm deeper than just some monkey that pontificates about the social strata of engineers.
Besides, this way, i can continue to be a code ninja. Silent, deadly, and full of mystery to those that do not know me.
no no don't strut the geek stuff around to much then others will be asking for your expert help and you won't have time to fix all the stuff I break. :)
