i'll note that it's $5.63 less than minimum wage in California. Kinda makes me wonder why the hell they bother.
You know what? They ought to make that part of the court costs. You want to bring a tort against a company? Fine, know that you'll be ponying up $64 x 15 (jury + 3 alternates) a day for the duration of the case, and yes, that's deducted from the settlement before the lawyers get their cut.
And i want some cake and ice cream, dammit.

The cake is not a lie, it exists! You just need to be baked before it will be served.
and you still have a pile of bugs at work to comb through after you're done with jury duty. not to mention the emails that your friend mark read has to deal with.
