Terms & Conditions for Online Billing

Effective March 2007.

Please read the following Terms and Conditions carefully, and complete this registration process if you would like to register for DIRECTV's Online Billing service ("Online Billing").

Once you are enrolled in Online Billing, you will automatically stop receiving your DIRECTV paper bill.

These are the Terms and Conditions for Online Billing. Please print a copy and retain it for your records. As used in these Terms and Conditions, "You" or "your" refers to the person responsible for the DIRECTV customer account who enrolls in Online Billing. "We", "us", or "DIRECTV" refers to DIRECTV, Inc.
[Blah, blah, blah...]

Computer Virus
You agree that you will be held liable for all damages related to or which flow from any computer virus that is received by DIRECTV through any means, including, but not limited to messages which may contain a virus, from your computer or server.

Effect on DIRECTV Customer Agreement
Your enrollment in Online Billing and your agreement with these Terms and Conditions shall have no effect on your DIRECTV Customer Agreement, and your DIRECTV Customer Agreement shall remain in full force and effect.

What the hey!? i'm responsible if their computers blow up from a virus!? Even if it doesn't come from me (see "including, but not limited to")!?

Seriously!?

Guys, c'mon. Spend a few bucks and get a copy of Avast for crying out loud, or be super cheap bastards and run ClamAV or run the freaking mail through Yahoo! or Google or something.

'til then, you can keep spending your money to send me a sheet of paper that tells me i have nothing due because i paid my bill online already. No way i'm signing up for anything with that little jewel in the fine print.

Wow! So when they get a virus they can bill you $10/month for clean up whether it came from your pc or not? Now there's a way to roll in some extra cash.

I was going to say this is big news that should be spread quickly (such as via some sort of malware), but really internet memes move even faster than viruses these days, so forwarding it in Chad Vader Clip with the subject line "The Cake Is A Lie" is the fastest possible method of mass communication.
